🚀 Greencovery takes off! Carlos launches the company at WUR with tech from his PhD at TU Delft. With Dr. Elinor Scott’s support and an NWO Take-off grant, the journey begins!
December 2018
🌱 First wins! Joined the first StartLife Accelerate program — landed funding and first food industry projects.
October 2019
🔬 Tech power-up! Paco and Joana join the team, becoming the brains behind our breakthrough applications.
September 2019
💼 Time to grow! Juan joins as Commercial Director to bring in market muscle and scale the business faster.
August 2020
🛡️ COVID boost! We receive the AtlasInvest Startup Grant — a key lifeline during uncertain times.

🏢 Our own lab! We open our facility in Wageningen — ready to expand and help more food companies

🛠️ Investment! With support from Oterap and Mibiton, we install semi-pilot equipment to test more sidestreams in-house.

🧪 Proven at scale! Paco scaled our first tech with BPF Delft and validated by our partner. Patent. Proven. Powerful.

🧁 Application wizard! Petra joins full-time to turn our upcycled ingredients into food-ready successes.

🧀 Patent #2! We file our second patent—one application: Parmigiano Reggiano side streams. In-house food applications validate market potential.

🌍 Global voice for upcycling! Greencovery takes the stage at major events, leading the charge to turn food side streams back into food.

💥 Fuel for impact! Brightlands Venture Partners joins as investor to accelerate our growth and help more partners upcycle smarter, faster.

🏗️ Scaling up fast! We launch two business units: Process Development and the Food Application Center — driving faster, full-spectrum innovation with our partners.

👑 Prime Minister taste test! With FoodValley, we welcome the Dutch PM to showcase our Parmesan mayo and our mission: turning waste into taste.

🥄 Dipping into Upcycling! Our first invite-only event during Circular Economy Week. Great vibes, great partners, great taste.

👑 Queen Máxima visits! Hosted by FoodValley, Her Majesty visits our facility — a royal nod to our mission: stop wasting, start upcycling.

🌱 Second patent scaled! We successfully scale our tech on okara (soy pulp), creating functional protein and fiber — now in testing with key partners.

🌍 FIE + new leadership! We shine at Food Ingredients Europe and welcome Rutger as Commercial Director — bringing top-tier industry and M&A expertise.
